The Economic Society of Australia is pleased to invite you to attend the inaugural Eminent Speaker Series.  The Eminent Speaker Series provides a unique opportunity for you to hear from the world’s leading economists in an open forum.

The Economic Society of Australia was founded in 1925, making it one of the oldest professional associations in Australia.  One of the main objectives of the society is to encourage the teaching, study and application of economics and related disciplines in Australia and to encourage the research and public debate of economic questions.

To meet this objective, the Economic Society of Australia has launched the Eminent Speaker Series in 2010.  We are honoured that Professor Joseph Stiglitz has agreed to be the first speaker in the series.

From 19 July-7 August 2010, Professor Stiglitz will be touring Australia on behalf of the Economic Society of Australia to conduct a series of presentations, starting in Perth then onto Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart, Canberra and Sydney.

The Economic Society of Australia Eminent Speaker Series is proudly supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers and QANTAS.
